Day 1: Indore to Ujjain Journey + Temples Tour
Your spiritual journey begins with a warm welcome at Indore airport or railway station, followed by a comfortable drive to Ujjain, one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in India. Known as the “City of Temples,” Ujjain is steeped in mythology, history, and devotion. After approximately 2 hours, you will reach your hotel in Ujjain. Check into your hotel and set out for an unforgettable Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga tour and local sightseeing.
The Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, world-famous for its Bhasma Aarti, a ritual performed every morning with sacred ash, symbolising the cycle of life and death. Devotees believe that darshan here grants moksha (liberation), making it the heart of Ujjain’s spiritual identity. Next, we will take you to Harsiddhi Temple—about 1 kilometre from the Jyotirlinga. The revered Shakti Peeth’s highlight is the unique evening ritual, when towering lampstands are lit with hundreds of oil lamps, filling the shrine with a golden glow.
Then, get ready to explore the Mahakal Lok Corridor, located just 5 minutes from the Harsiddhi Temple. This 900-meter-long corridor adorned with 108 carved pillars, mythological sculptures, and murals narrating tales of Lord Shiva is a newly developed attraction that amplifies the grandeur of the Mahakaleshwar temple complex. After that, you will visit the Ram Ghat on the banks of the Shipra River, where pilgrims gather for holy dips and evening aartis. Situated at a distance of 2 kilometres from the corridor, the ghat is also the central venue for the Kumbh Mela, one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings held every 12 years.
In another 3 kilometres, you will stop by the Sandipani Ashram. This peaceful ashram is where Krishna, Balarama, and Sudama are believed to have studied under Guru Sandipani. Finally, you will visit the Bada Ganesh Temple—only 10 minutes away from the ashram. Famous for its colossal idol of the deity, the temple is believed to bring good fortune and wisdom, making it a must-visit for devotees and tourists alike. In the evening, you will return to your hotel in Ujjain for an overnight stay, carrying with you the divine energy of this sacred city.
Day 2: Ujjain to Maheshwar en route Omkareshwar
Start your day with a filling breakfast to prepare you for the long day ahead. After that, you will check out and embark on your journey to Maheshwar. Moreover, a holy dip in the Narmada River near the temple is considered spiritually purifying.
Our next stop is the Mamleshwar Temple.
