Ahmedabad and Vadodara Tour for 5-Days with Statue of Unity, Gir Jungle Safari & Diu Sightseeing Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Ahmedabad + Sightseeing

Upon your arrival in Ahmedabad, our driver will greet you and take you directly to your hotel for check-in. Once you have had your breakfast, we will begin the journey towards the first step of the Ahmedabad tour package—the Sabarmati Ashram. Located on the banks of Sabarmati, the ashram is where Mahatma Gandhi spent several years during India’s struggle for independence. Here, you will visit different chambers related to Gandhi’s life, like the Gandhi Museum, Hriday Kunj, etc. Needless to say, the place holds a significant place in our country’s history.

After driving for 30 minutes, we will stop at the Adalaj Stepwell in Gandhinagar. It is a 7-storey deep stepwell which is rather unique. The deeper you move into the stepwell, the lower the temperature falls. The intricate carvings on its walls also make it an architectural marvel.

Located at a 20-minute distance from the Adalaj Stepwell is the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple, which will be our next destination. Spread over a 23-acre complex, it features stunning architecture. Most importantly, its 5 exhibition halls displaying audio-visual presentations related to Hindu tradition and culture are a must-visit.

Later, we will drive you back to your hotel in Ahmedabad for a comfortable stay.

Day 2: Sightseeing at Kevadia + Arrival at Vadodara

As you wake up, treat yourself to a delicious complimentary breakfast at the hotel and then check out. Our driver will take you to Kevadia, which is a 3-hour journey from Ahmedabad. As you reach Kevadia, we will first go to the Sardar Sarovar Dam—the world’s second largest concrete dam. Built on the Narmada River, it is a scenic site that makes for a famous tourist destination.

Next, we will head for a trip to the Statue of Unity. The monument is just 15 minutes away from the dam. Measuring 182 meters in height, it is the tallest statue in the world! Once you have fully absorbed the grandeur of the colossal statue, we will continue our journey to Vadodara. After about 1.5 hours, we will reach our destination. Our driver will drop you at the hotel where you will check in and enjoy a good night’s sleep.

Day 3: Vadodara Sightseeing + Arrival at Sasan Gir

On day 3, have a scrumptious meal for breakfast and then check out of the hotel. Your Vadodara tour package starts from here. First, we will visit the grand Laxmi Vilas Palace—an opulent structure four times the size of the Buckingham Palace! Its Durbar Hall and museum are must-visit locations. After savoring the beauty of the palace’s Indo-Saracenic architecture, we will leave for the Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery that boasts a diverse collection spanning art, archaeology, and natural history, like Mughal miniatures and sculptures from the Gupta and Maurya periods. Next, join us on a trip to the peaceful ISCKON Temple and the sprawling Sayaji Garden. The garden also has a zoo, planetarium, museum, and toy train.

After lunch, we will visit the Mani Laxmi Temple, which is a 1-hour drive from the Baroda Museum. Also known as the Manilaxmi Jain Tirth, it is a prominent Jain pilgrimage site in Gujarat. Finally, we will drive towards Sasan Gir. After a long road trip of approximately 6 hours, you will arrive at your hotel in Sasan Gir. After checking in, enjoy a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 4: Gir Jungle Safari + Arrival at Diu

Wake up early for the much-awaited Gir Jungle Safari. As you explore the Gir National Park, you might spot some fascinating animals, like the Asiatic lion, leopard, deer, and exotic birds. You will also get to witness the beauty of teak forests and grasslands. After seeing the animals in their natural habitat, it will be time for you to return to your hotel for a filling breakfast.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and head for the union territory, Diu. The distance from Sasan Gir to Diu can be covered in about 1.5 hours. Upon your arrival at Diu, we will take you to the scenic Nagoa Beach. Known for its horseshoe-shaped cove, white sand, and clear blue water, the beach is a picturesque coastal destination. You can rest there or enjoy recreational activities, like jet skiing, banana boat ride, etc, at your own expense. Later, we will drop you at your hotel in Diu, where you will check in and rest for the night.

Day 5: Diu Sightseeing Tour + Departure to Ahmedabad

Begin the last day of the tour with a tempting breakfast, followed by checking out of the hotel. Then, we will take you on a fun Diu sightseeing tour, beginning with a trip to a 400-year-old marvel—the St. Paul Church. The structure from the Portuguese era features eye-catching Baroque architecture and wood carvings. Next, we will visit the INS Khukri Memorial and pay tribute to the brave naval soldiers who lost their lives in the Indo-Pak War of 1971. Then, we will visit the unique Shell Museum that houses an eclectic collection of nearly 3000 seashells from around the world!

For the next part of the tour, if time permits, we will head to Fortim-do-Mar or Pani Kotha. It is an interesting sea fort located off the coast. Then, we will go to Zampa Gateway—a medieval tourist attraction with intricate design. Next, join us on a trip to the colossal Diu Fort, which is spread over 5.6 hectares! From this Portuguese fortification, you can get panoramic views of the town and the sea, which is a sight to behold.

As the tour approaches its end, we will cover two more attractions—the Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple and Naida Caves. The former features natural rock formations and Shiva Lingams, while the latter is a network of natural caves filled with many mysteries. After a thrilling sightseeing tour, we will take you back to Ahmedabad. As the long 6-7 hour journey reaches its end, our driver will bid you farewell, and the tour will be complete.

The Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple remains closed on Monday, so plan your trip accordingly.
