It not only includes a trip to the village but also a jeep safari exploring the forest and interaction with the local artists like potters and weavers followed by the opium ceremony in a Bishnoi house. Read the detailed itinerary for more information about this 3-hour-long tour.
  • Day 1 (21-05-2025)

3:00 PM: Our driver will pick you up from your hotel/airport and take you from Jodhpur to Bishnoi Village in a private AC car. Upon reaching the meeting point, you will get into a 4x4 jeep and head for the safari with a local guide. The excursion will begin with the Guda Bishnoi Lake which is a famous picnic spot and a popular site for bird watching. Many migratory birds like Demoiselle Cranes can be found here. You can also head to a local temple nearby and explore the tribal shrine.

4:00 PM: After spending some leisure time at the lake, we will continue the Bishnoi Village Safari. The forest land is sacred to the Bishnoi tribe and they take great care of their wildlife. You can see many wild animals in their natural habitat here. These include antelopes, gazelles, wild rabbits, chinkaras, and hyenas. You can also spot the rare black bucks here, who are worshiped by the locals.

4:30 PM: After witnessing the splendid wildlife of the region, it’s time to get up close and personal with the tribal people and learn about their local customs and traditions. That’s why we will take you to the pottery and weaving villages. Here, you can see the weavers engaging in their unique crafts like block printing and potters creating stunning handicrafts. You can shop for these articles and other souvenirs.

5:00 PM: For the last part of the tour, we will take you to a local Bishnoi house for the traditional Opium Ceremony called Amal Sabha. While opium is banned in India, it can be used in regulation for cultural and medicinal purposes. The village elders will make a drink from soaked and filtered opium and offer it to you. You may try it or politely refuse, as per your will. You will also get the chance to interact with the locals and get a deeper understanding of their customs and values. During your time at the village, you will also be offered light refreshments.

5:30 PM: As the engaging and interactive session with the tribe comes to an end, you will be dropped off at your destination in Jodhpur. With this, your same-day Bishnoi village trip will conclude.
