Walking a distance of nearly 1.5 km on foot, you will cover some of the most prominent sites, including but not limited to the Ochterlony Monument or Shaheed Minar in the Esplanade, Town Hall, High Court, Metcalfe Hall, Bankshall Court, etc. You will be assisted by a learned local guide who will tell you all that there is to know about these popular places. Day 1 (01-05-2025)

Your much-awaited Kolkata walking tour will begin with a trip to the Esplanade accompanied by our travel guide. Here, you will visit the Shaheed Minar or Martyr’s Column which was formerly known as the Ochterlony Monument. The 157 ft high tower was called the Cloud-Kissing Monument by Mark Twain and features a marvelous mix of Syrian and Turkish architecture.
Next, we will head to the Town Hall—a heritage building located in the heart of the city. It will take you back to the era of British administration in India. Then, we will move towards the High Court of Kolkata. It is the oldest high court in the country, and its design is inspired by the Cloth Hall at Ypres, Belgium.
The next stop in our Kolkata city tour will be the Metcalfe Hall. Architecturally similar to the ancient Greek temples, the building faces the famous Hooghly River and offers a beautiful view. After this, we will visit the beautiful Bankshall Court. It features magnificent porches, pillars, and arches that are a sight to behold. We will also see the Eastern Railway Headquarters. The last stop in our tour will be the Netaji Subhas Road—a significant thoroughfare with several grand buildings built in the Victorian style of architecture.
