Kolkata Metro Tour: Cultural Exploration

Wake up early as the most loved experience awaits you - The Kolkata Metro Tour. The tour commences at 7:30 am as our driver comes to pick you up from your hotel. We'll head to the Esplanade Metro Station, where you'll board the metro accompanied by your knowledgeable guide. Throughout the day, we'll disembark at various stations, including Sovabazar, Girish Park, Park Street, Maidan, and Kalighat, to explore the city's gems.

Our first stop is Kumartuli, an ancient artisan village renowned for crafting divine idols, particularly the famous Durga idols exported globally. Next, we'll visit the beautiful Marble Palace, a testament to Bengal's opulence, constructed in 1855 with Italian marble by Raja Rajendra Mallick Bahadur. Here, you'll admire timeless artworks in its art gallery.

Continuing our journey, we'll explore Tagore’s House, the birthplace and residence of Rabindranath Tagore, India's celebrated poet and philosopher. Learn about his literary legacy and visit the museum dedicated to his illustrious family. 

Our next destination is the Indian Museum, one of Asia's oldest, housing a vast collection of ancient artifacts and historic treasures. We'll then proceed to Victoria Memorial, a marble monument erected between 1906 and 1921 in honor of Queen Empress Victoria. Explore its museum and art gallery, showcasing priceless paintings and manuscripts. Our tour concludes with a visit to Kalighat Kali Temple, where devotees seek blessings from Goddess Kali.

After a day of exploration, we'll return to Esplanade station by Metro Rail, where our driver will be waiting to escort you back to your hotel in comfort and style.
