We’ll then take you to Sarnath which is around 40 minutes away from Varanasi. Sarnath is widely known for being one of the four major Buddhist pilgrimage sites, where Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon and founded the Buddhist Sangha. The city has been a hub for Buddhism for over 2,000 years and is a popular site for Buddhists around the world.
Sarnath is home to numerous Buddhist monuments and monuments, including the Dhamekh Stupa, which is considered one of the oldest Buddhist structures in India, and the Chaukhandi Stupa, which marks the spot where Buddha is believed to have met his first disciples. King Ashoka built the Dharmarajika Stupa to keep the Buddha relic safe. Buddha carvings have been added to Mulagandhakuti Vihara, a location where Buddha meditates during the monsoon. Deer Park is a beautiful deer park. With some impressive carving, the Ashoka Pillar was embellished. Buddhist artistic and cultural relics are on display in the Sarnath Archeological Museum.
After that, we‘ll take you back to Varanasi where you may savor a sumptuous lunch at a local restaurant.
After enjoying your delicious meal we’ll then take you to Kashi Vishwanath temple which is one of the most sacred Hindu temples and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has a rich history tracing back to the 18th century and has been mentioned in various Hindu scriptures. The temple is also known for its architectural beauty, with its towering spire and intricate carvings, making it an iconic landmark in Varanasi.
We will then take you on a boat tour in the evening before sunset to see the daily Ganga Aarti held in Dashashwamedh Ghat. Ganga aarti is a mesmerizing and spiritual ritual that takes place daily on the banks of the river Ganga. This beautiful and spiritual ceremony has been an integral part of the city‘s cultural heritage for centuries and attracts millions of pilgrims and tourists every year. The aarti is performed by Hindu priests and involves the lighting of lamps, singing of hymns, and the offering of flowers and other things to the river. It is a truly magical experience and provides a sense of peace and serenity to all.
Following the majestic Kashi Ganga Aarti, a driver will take you back to the hotel. With this, your full-day private tour comes to an end.
